Can't Get Enough

I spent 16 hours here yesterday...I worked from 3pm Saturday afternoon, to 7am Sunday morning.  And now?  I am sitting in the hospital Starbucks playing on the internet that I don't have at my apartment.  In all fairness, I did try to go to the library, but it was closed, so here I am....back at work.  I just can't get enough of this place.

Lyla Loo!

 

Last Friday I had the wonderful opportunity to babysit one of my little daycare darlings.  I miss these kids so much, so I love getting the chance to see them and spend some time with them.  Lyla is adorable.  Dark hair, bright blue eyes, and my how she's grown!

We went for a walk, fed the fish in the stream next to her house, played on the swings, ate gold fish crackers, and little Lyla dictated how to put bows and ribbons in my hair!

F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.

Today is F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.

First: I won the giveaway from Ashley Mae Photography!  I couldn't be more excited.  Ashely and I used to work together at Lee's Marketplace in North Logan, and I adore her!  She not only is a wonderful and amazing person, but she is so talented and I drool over her photo sessions.  I can't wait to shoot with her!

Second:  I've had 4 interviews at University hospital in the last week and they all went great!  Not to mention, I have another one tomorrow!  I am really hoping that I can land one of these babies.  My interviews were for the surgical ICU unit as a health unit coordinator, Huntsman Cancer Institute as a health care assistant, inpatient rehabilitation unit as a health care assistant, the surgical services unit as a health unit coordinator, and tomorrow, it's for a health care assistant in the surgical specialties and transplant unit.  I am so stoked, so keep your fingers crossed!

Third:  I got completely spoiled by Nick this week!  Thanks to him, the following *to die for* items will now be in my closet!

Life has taught me many important lessons the last few months.

*Live life to the fullest, you never know when it will fall apart.  And when it does, make the best of it and keep going.

*Be grateful to have your life, even when it seems like that is all you have.

*Never forget who really loves you, they are the ones who will be there when you feel all alone.

*Tell your loved ones how important they are to you, because you never know when you will get another chance.

When Life Gets Tough, Paint.

Lately, life has been really tough.  When life gets tough, I get painting.

This picture was inspired by another painting I saw by an artist named Paul Sinus.  It came at a time when someone I went to high school with got into a serious car accident.  He may or may not survive, and even though we didn't know each other well, I felt deeply affected by his tragedy.

This picture represents the most difficult day of my life.  In the past two days, I've lost, and I've loved.  When I started this painting I was helpless, afraid, and angry.  But sometime during the course of painting this, everything changed.  Instead of anger and fear I was overcome by love.  A love that will never falter, or fail.  A love that has been tested to the breaking point, and still survived.

Love is a spirit composed of fire.  It can be jealous, or it can be warm.  Love can be like smoldering ashes, or it can be a flame as bright as day.  Love can stand the test of time if it is cared for and fed.  Love can burn you, or it can save your life.  Luckily for me, it was the latter.  His love saved me, and I'll never forget that.
